Cycling rally “Ku Kaczym Dołom” - 70 km in the sunshine
70 km, 17 cyclists, sunshine and… Kacze Doły! What a Saturday on the bikes.
On 26 September we set off on the “Ku Kaczym Dołom” rally route. The weather was perfect - full sun, not a single cloud and just a gentle breeze. And the route? Interesting, scenic and full of natural surprises.
Along the way we learned the story of Kacze Doły - a place where, thanks to the work of foresters and cooperation with the Holcim company, woodland ponds were restored and huge amounts of water are now retained.
Teresa and Mariusz - our Rally Leaders - you did a brilliant job! Thank you for leading the group and for all your positive energy.
And at the finish… you can guess! With a name like “Ku Kaczym Dołom” (“To the Duck Hollows”), there had to be czernina, the traditional Polish duck soup. There was also a delicious goulash soup prepared by the Rural Women’s Association (Koło Gospodyń Wiejskich) “Rogowskie Ziółka” - thank you! After 70 kilometres it tasted like the best reward.
